WebJan 30, 2014 · By fitting CSEOFs in place of EOFs to tide gauges to reconstruct sea level for the 1950–2010 time period (Hamlington et al., 2011b), we have found that it is possible to create an alternate and, we believe, improved reconstruction to those based on EOFs. Webclostationary empirical orthogonal functions (CSEOFs) and are the CS analogy of Fourier functions in stationary approaches. They represent spatiotemporal patterns (or modes) of a CS process. CSEOFs are also useful as a set of basis functions in developing detection and es-timation techniques (e.g., North et al. 1995; North and Kim 1995). Webreconstruction.
