WebAbout the colors: A red-yellow cross was a serious option and was even used as a temporary trade and naval flag in 1918. The civil war of the same year was "whites" vs. "reds", the former won (thankfully). After the war red and yellow colors reminded people too much about the Soviets, so that flag idea was scrapped.
